California Farmer Wins Cotton Award

Chad Crivelli, a farmer from California has won the 2013 Far West High Cotton award, says a news report in Western Farm Press.

Chad has been part of the San Joaquin Valley Sustainable Cotton Project for the last 15 years. The project works with farmers to develop cost efficient, environment friendly cotton farming techniques. It also aims to spread the information about the importance of sustainable cotton farming among its buyers.

Pete Goodell, University of California IPM advisor, says, “Chad meets with people during field trips to share the story about sustainable cotton. He is a great spokesperson for urban folks who don’t understand what’s going on in cotton industry. He represents the cotton industry incredibly well, and the High Cotton Award is a well-deserved honor for Chad.”
