Organic Cotton Will Make Its Debut In NicaraguaNews Reports 2:14 pm
Talking about organic cotton, Ariel Bucardo, Minister of MAGFOR (The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Nicaragua) says,“Historically, this product has generated a lot of manpower, which is why we began the experiment moderately and expect that if the results are good, as we are currently witnessing, we will gradually increase cotton production.”
Cotton cultivation has generated a lot of employment in Nicaragua and according to Bucardo, the country’s production of cotton is good enough to supply an international demand. He also said that keeping in mind the good prices being offered for cotton, especially organic cotton, this could be a good business.
The organic cotton project is led by the Government of Nicaragua along with PRONicaragua, the official investment promotion agency of Nicaragua and the National Association of Textiles and Apparel.
